What is the recording format?

We record to an ADAT 24 HD stand alone recorder which is sync'd to a high-end Dual Quad Intel based computer for Mixing, Mastering and Midi interfacing when needed. The operation is setup with an old school configuration incorporating new school technology. This means we can set up an entire band fully mic'd and just let em go. Then if need be, midi synth can be added in sync with the actual instruments. We utilize a Masterlink and SONAR 8 Producer for final master mixes and mastering to Redbook or CD24. Also on board are 6 out-board compressors and 3 effects units for analog mix downs. Cakewalk SONAR 8 Producer is fully equipped with DAW technology and multiple VST plug-ins while the Mackie 24-8 Buss analog board captures all initial recording. We have 6 condenser mics, 12 Shure 57s and 3 58s. This does not list everything but it begins to show our budgeted capabilities.

What Mics do you use?

Our Main vocal mic is a Rode NT2 along with Shure 58's for scratch vocals and backups. We use Shure 57's for non-condenser mic'ing and Rode NT5's for drum set over heads. An AKG3000 is used for acoustic and amplfier mic'ing. Various other mic's are available such as the Shure 52a bass drum mic or condenser mic's for high end instrument recording.

What instruments are available?

There is a set of maple Ludwig drums, Godin Nylon electric guitar (Roland synth ready), Guild 12 string acoustic, Gibson and Fender electric guitars and a Yamaha P90 electric piano. A Hammond M3(known as the baby B3) and Leslie is also available. There's various percussion instruments and normally an amp or two in the live room as well. A simple PA set-up is available for rehearsal too.

What kind of notice is required?

To book sessions, just call or email for open dates. For cancelations, you must call at least 24 hours before hand.

Are there any limitations?

There is no smoking allowed in the studio. However, smoking is allowed outside. Food and soft drinks are allowed in the live room and beverages in the control room as long as you clean up behind yourself. A fridge is provided for keeping things cool (except for hot heads, not much can be done about that). It is assumed if you break something you own it.
